Creatures Cry

.

Can't you hear the creatures,

they can't speak to testify,

about all the misery they feel

but their misfortunes are so real.

.

Some are starved or beaten,

some forced to fight.

Others, simply thrownaway,

it's a terrible blight.

.

Those who harm them, understand,

may well do the same to man.

'Tho not heard, in silence they weep,

but many don't listen, their soul's asleep.

Random

.

Random was a dog I met,

well, took her in, cold and wet.

Why Random for a name.

She'd been around and back again.

.

A dozen breed of who knows what,

diversity, I think, the plot.

No blue ribbons, no pedigree,

but, that never bothered me.

.

It seemed like she'd been here forever

and really wasn't a problem, ever.

She watched over all of us,

and never minded all the fuss.

.

She nurtured each child that came along,

and comforted me when days were long.

Now there's no reason to read this and cry

she's still here, standing.

Aristocrat

.

Sitting there so upright,

graceful curve to your neck.

I can't help feeling pride,

you're exquisite my pet.

.

We've been together a while now,

yet, at times, you seem aloof.

It's a ruse I feel,

'tho I haven't any proof.

.

At other times, we're very close,

and you're terribly sweet.

Am I thrilled, yes,

that you're here is quite a fete.

.

Since you've come, I'm so happy,

common, oh no, you're an aristocrat.

I'm so glad I found you,

little alley cat.

Spot

.

Couldn't you be a tad more aloof,

as it is, you act the goof.

You tire me, you little witch, you,

I hope it's not become a ritual.

.

I think one day you'll settle down,

tired of being the constant clown.

Still, never lose your sense of humor,

that I oppose it, is merely rumor.

.

We'll be close one day, you'll see,

the two of us, as can be.

Down the path of friendship we'll jog,

you crazy little spotted dog.

Fire and Ice

.

Ice is slick and flashy,

Fire, brazen, her spirit rendered.

Both are very, very "nice",

paid for with legal tender.

.

Ah, they love an audience,

swishing all around.

Those who see them are impressed,

still, they'll never be on solid ground.

.

They move, quivering forth,

with pouting lips, misty eyed.

Their enchantment, obvious,

and everyone is mesmerized.

.

What, you don't get it,

my, my, well bless your soul.

Too difficult to figure out,

they're just my goldfish in a bowl.

Faces

.

Faces in the jungle,

with eyes in pain.

Should we dare to lose them,

we'll not see them again.

.

If there is no room,

for these mournful faces,

will we someday wonder

where our place is.

.

We need to see,

we rule so many domains,

that it's up to us

for what remains.

.

Voices in the shelters,

they can only cry.

They wait for rescue

while time passes by.

.

Creatures on the street

lost and afraid.

Can't you stop for a moment

and give them aid.

.

Won't we ever get it

when will we understand.

All animals futures

are in our hands.

Assaulted

.

Talk about evil,

someone's been in my bowl.

I can't beleive it,

have they no soul?

.

And over there,

they've been on my rug.

It's all wrinkled,

it must be a thug!

.

I just bet,

they've been on my chair.

I'm sure it's ruined,

how could they dare.

.

And my leash,

it's on the floor.

It's been chewed on,

it wasn't before.

.

Under the table,

who is that?

I'll be darned,

it's that nasty ole' cat.

.

She's really something,

it's her alright.

You know who'll be guarding

their bowl tonight!

What, My Sweet

.

What is it, tonight, my sweet,

a little late night bite to eat?

What is it you desire,

a quiet evening by the fire?

.

Are you thinking a night out?

Signify something, don't sit and pout.

What is it you demand?

You know I wait for your command.

.

Why do you keep pacing around,

can't you just settle down?

You act like a crazed bat,

you fussy, miserable, spoiled rotten cat!

.

Murals

.

Laying back, I looked to the sky,

and saw the world drifting by.

I saw a puppy in the air,

the changing breeze brought a bear.

.

I saw great plains and a beach,

and an apple, seemingly in reach.

A car appeared, then sped away,

then there were two kittens at play.

.

There was a bird that became a beast,

and bales of cotton, to say the least.

Then a castle, and a boat,

heck, it's just the clouds afloat.
