Weak Resolution . I've been through this many times before, the frosted muzzle, staggering gait. The slow, painful rising from the floor, the peering eye, the ears less keen of late. The cats he used to chase, sit on the fence, and all but but thumb their disrespectful noses. While old jaws take a bone with gay pretence, and hide it secretely among my roses. . Bring me no other dog to fill the place that is his own. I lose a piece of my heart with each one lost. I cannot bear to face, another love, another, another time to part. This is the end, oh let there be no more homeless puppies crying at my door. | |
